1.0 General information
ICAR is pleased to announce the organization of the ICAR Proficiency Test 2024.Participation in the ICAR PT complies with analytical quality assurance requirements of ISO 17025. Along with the system of Certification of Quality implemented by ICAR since 2016, it consists in a recognition of the competence of laboratories and, more broadly, of analytical systems in ICAR member organisations that require regular PT participation with international anchorage. ICAR PT is ISO 17043 certified.
1.1 Administrative fees
The administrative fees are different for ICAR and non ICAR members.
1.2 Parameter fees
The technical sub-contractor of this proficiency testing scheme are ACTALIA, and LACTANET The ICAR PT parameters considered are: fat, protein, urea, lactose, somatic cell, beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB), Pregnancy Associated Glycoproteins (PAG) and Microorganism DNA PCR technique in cow milk. For fat, protein, urea, lactose, somatic cell, beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) Fatty Acids, it will be possible to participate with chemical (direct) method and alternative (indirect) method.
The ICAR secretariat collects the participation forms, sends you the final report and the invoice.
The ICAR PT is key to your quality assurance. A feature of the new ICAR PT report will help you track and trend your performance over time. ICAR technical staff are always available to help interpret the results and support you as necessary.

3.0 Particular cautions for international delivery
Large delays can result from missing the exact fulfilment of the custom requirements of the importing country so it is important to update ICAR on the local custom requirements and the latest changes.
For new participants, particular attention should be paid to the first trial to check transport effectiveness and, where needed, enable possible improvement with regard to delays. The most appropriate method for sample transport and delivery will be determined.
Please pay attention as samples may arrive on a bank holiday in your country.
