With around 130 organisations from around 60 countries ICAR has a world-wide membership network, making ICAR a global membership network.

The designations employed in this page do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of ICAR concerning the legal or development status of any country, territory, city or area or of its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries.

It provides a  geographic representation of ICAR Members and account for the global network in which ICAR is organised. Presently, ICAR is composed of by nearly 120 Member Organastions from more than 60 countries.

Its Members are involved in different areas of the animal production sector ranging from breed associations to herd management organisations, milk and genetic laboratories, industry service providers, public research centres and competent authorities. ICAR is a platform for sharing information and best practices between members. With such geographic representativeness, ICAR disseminates the best practices in the field of animal identification, recording systems, data analysis and genetic evaluation
